Two Tickets To The Dark Side
:: I renewed my membership in the GeekBoy Club this evening by purchasing two advance tickets to the May 19th, 1830 hrs showing of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The early reviews are mostly positive, with the Critics Tomatometer reading 86% positive as of this evening. A number of reviewers are calling it the best SW installment since The Empire Strikes Back, which was directed by Irvin Kirshner.

However, when the three films between Empire and Sith are Jedi, Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, that’s not exactly a ringing endorsement. That’s why the RT rating is so high: the last 2 films were so bad that everyone’s expectations were lowered so that “It Doesn’t Suck” translates into 4-star/thumbs up.
I bought my 5/19 ticket last month, so I’m in good standing with the Geek Guild.
