Latex Progress

:: Most of the living room painting was done today. The east half the room was painted a shade of dark blue, the other half a shade of light blue in the same colour range. Kathryn came by around 10:15 or so, and was an enormous help throughout the day (as she was last year when the pink wallpaper was removed and the hall painted Scotland Road green.) We stopped at lunch for bowls of her homemade seafood/fish soup, with some delicious Pugliese bread from Sobey’s, plus a bottle of Stewart’s root beer for me. Then it was back to work, with most of it completed by 5:30 pm. The goal is to have the walls painted before Heavy G comes by to rip out the carpet and install laminate flooring.

I am tired, my hands are dry and cracked, and my back is sore, but the hard part is over. See a short video recap of the day’s efforts here.

Hey. Looks great! I’ve always liked the effect that you get with two tone paint. I’ve just never had the imagination to try it. Good work.

Looks very tasteful, and you picked a good day to do the job. But I can’t help but think about the potential jokes: how many librarians does it take to paint a room… one to develop the policy, one to create the authority file and … blah blah.

Looking good. It can be a pain in the ass to tackle these projects but they pay off when you know and feel that your living space is comfortable and good-looking.

That’s GORGEOUS! I just love it :D. And the flooring will look great, too. A really nice freshening up from the carpet (it’s going in the living room, right?) Does all this work mean you managed to purge some of the stuff you wanted to get rid of as well?

LOVE the dark blue. It’s very calm and cozy looking.

Love the colours Randy and before you know it we will be sitting in your living room visiting with you. We can hardly wait. It is a lot of work but well worth the effort. Enjoy!

Wow. Who needs Debbie Travis, or Chris and Stephen, or those fab five guys? I can foresee a post-librarian career here………..

Wow. 🙂 Looks fabulous! Colin and I have been talking about painting, and what you’ve done is great inspiration.
